The DOJ is asking for stories including days, times, and details of any interactions or confrontations that are related to the focus of their investigation.

The U.S. Department  of Justice (DOJ) is investigating whether the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) engages in a pattern or practice of:

  • using excessive force, including uses of force against individuals engaged in First Amendment activities
  • discriminating against people (including on the basis of race, gender, or disability)
  • or conducting unreasonable stops, searches, seizures, and arrests, both during patrol activities and in obtaining and executing search warrants for private homes.
